Team GB Olympic bronze medal winning hockey player Georgie Twigg heads the list of stellar arrivals at Surbiton Ladies as they prepare for their first-ever season in the Investec Women’s Hockey League Premier Division.
The 21-year-old midfielder, who scored in the 5-3 win over South Korea at London 2012, will be the first current GB player to wear a Surbiton shirt after switching from Clifton.
Hannah Bowe, who played for Ireland at the Investec London Cup, makes the short trip from Slough, together with Natalie Bell, and Hannah Coulson.
Welsh international, Emma Batten also made the switch to Sugden Road, while Sarah Page and Sarah Haycroft – members of the University of Birmingham team which beat Surbiton in last season’s Investec Women’s Cup final – have joined new skipper Chloe Strong’s side, who start the season at home to Reading on Saturday.
