Inspired by the Paralympics, athletes converged on the Sutton Arena to take part in an athletics championship for people with learning difficulties and complex needs.
The athletes, who competed in events such as archery, relay races and long jump, started the day with a procession of international flags led by an Olympic torch.
At the end of the day, David Hemery, the 1968 Olympic 400m hurdles gold medalist, presented all the athletes with their medals.
He said: “These kind of events really prove the power of sport in uniting and empowering people of all abilities.”
The Championship was organised in partnership with Fitness 4 Fun, which works with care providers CMG to promote the benefits of unified sports.
