New Malden’s Tom Onslow-Cole is confident he can secure a first win of the season before the year is out, writes Stuart Amos.

The Team eBay Motors  star, who almost won the BTCC crown in 2010, finished third and second at Oulton Park and Croft in June before the summer break.

The 25-year-old – driving in a S2000-spec BMW – will find it tough, but Onslow-Cole, who has not won a race in nearly two years, reckoned he had a few tricks up his sleeve.

“I think we can get a cheeky win here and there. It’s going to be very difficult to do it on outright pace as the NGTC cars are already superior and are getting stronger all the time,” he said.

“There might be a couple of tracks where it might happen, but it will need us to be very clever about how we use what we’ve got.

“I don’t want to end 2012 without a win. I’m building nicely towards the top step.”
