England bowler Chris Tremlett reckons leading the Surrey attack at the Oval is behind his resurgence as an international performer.
The 29-year-old, who took 48 first-class wickets for the Lions in the summer, claimed match figures of 8 for 150 as skipper Andrew Strauss' men slipped to a 267-run defeat to Australia in the third Ashes Test last week.
He is a certainty to play in the Boxing Day Test at the MCG and the former Hampshire man reckons his successful return to top level cricket - after a three-year absence - is down to his switch to the Oval.
"I've come a long way over the last few years and I think I've got what it takes to be an international bowler," he said.
"The move to Surrey was a big positive for me. It was something I needed to do for a change, have a fresh start and start enjoying my cricket again.
"I've enjoyed every minute of that and I've just tried to take that attitude into bowling for England.
"I needed to get away from Hampshire and bowl on a Test wicket. The Oval is a great place to learn your trade and it has been a good year."
