Corinthian-Casuals Assistant Manager Joe Davies has left the Bostik League club with immediate effect.

Joe has been an integral part of the coaching set-up for a number of years after playing for the club from Youth level to the Reserves and into the First XI. Joe was one of the squad that toured Brazil and played against Corinthians Paulista in front of 30,000 in 2015.

Davies, who originally was part of the Reserves coaching set-up progressed to the first team role under Matt Howard and after the Manager’s departure, joined incoming Boss James Bracken as Assistant Manager alongside Dan Pringle.

Working with James and Dan, Joe enjoyed successes with a record-breaking FA Trophy Run and last season, taking the club to a record points haul and the league playoff final.

Stuart Tree, spokesperson for the club commented on Joe’s departure. “From all at Corinthian-Casuals, it’s sad to learn of Joe’s departure. He’d made a significant contribution to one of the club’s most successful periods in our long and illustrious history.

"Not only was he a vital cog in James’ backroom staff, but his warm personality and friendly nature will be sorely missed. His enthusiasm for the role was evident and I for one will miss our chats on the team coach.”

“We wholeheartedly wish Joe all the best for his future endeavours and look forward to welcoming him down to King George’s at any time.”

Manager James Bracken was also full of praise for his departing right hand man. “It obviously goes without saying that I’m extremely grateful to Joe for his commitment and support over the past two seasons.

"I’ve got to know him very well as running a football club on a daily basis brings you closer together in one form or another and consider him not just a respected colleague but a friend whose work ethic is unquestionable.”

“Him leaving gives me an opportunity to reflect on the job all of my staff have done and continue to do without any form of payment as we strive to achieve what others deem impossible.”

“I’m humbled by their support and continuing commitment”

The first team will continue to be led by Bracken aided by Assistant Manager Dan Pringle.
