Ivory Coast international Gohi Bi Zoro Cyriac has cleared the way for a transfer move to Crystal Palace or West Ham, insisting that a switch to one of the Premier League clubs would provide a good challenge.

Both the Eagles and the Hammers are said to have sent scouts to watch the exciting striker, who is currently the top scorer in Belgium with 10 goals for Oostende.

The former Anderlecht star has admitted that he would like to play in the “best league in the world”, but claims that he is focussed on his career at Oostende right now.

When asked about the interest from Palace and West Ham, Cyriac was quoted by the Daily Star as saying: “I’m happy about that. I like those clubs. They would be a challenge for me.

“I was told they were in the stadium and that there is possible interest, but I am just concentrating on playing for my club.

“I would be happy to play in the best league in the world one day but right now I want to help Oostende qualify for Europe.”

Cyriac, who has made four international appearances, also said that Chelsea legend Didier Drogba is like a “father figure”.

“I like the Premier League a lot,” he added. “When I was a kid I liked Wayne Rooney, and I met Didier Drogba playing for the Ivory Coast. He has given me lots of advice.

“He is like a father figure. He has helped me a lot. I like the Premier League. It is very physical and referees play with a good spirit and don’t stop the attacks all the time.”

Palace are searching the market for striker reinforcements with the future of current forwards Patrick Bamford and Dwight Gayle unknown.
