Kingstonian manager Tommy Williams finally got his man last week having waited 12 months to sign Dan Bennett.

The Farnborough midfielder put pen to paper on a new contract at Kingsmeadow last week, having trialed for the club against Whyteleafe in July 2014.

Enigmatic Bennett fell out with ’Borough boss Spencer Day last season and is nicknamed the ‘Marmite Man’ by fans who say he can be brilliant one week and disinterested the next.

Williams tried to sign the player mid-way through last season during one of the four occasions he left and rejoined Farnborough.

And the manager, who welcomed his men back to pre-season training this week, is certain he’ll be popular with Ks supporters when he settles at the Ryman Premier league promotion chasers.

"I tried to sign Dan last season but for one reason or another didn't get him, so to finally get him on board I'm obviously very pleased,” said Williams.

“Dan is an exciting player who creates and scores goals. I'm sure he will be a fans favourite at Kingsmeadow."
