Hercules Wimbledon chairman and three times English senior men's cross-country champion Dave Clarke showed good form in the Thorpe Park Sprint Triathlon on Sunday.

He finished third in the over-50 category in one hour 13 minutes 43 seconds - his best individual discipline was the 5km run, where he was 13th best of the 263 competitors in 18:41.

His wife, Francesca, was ninth in the women's race and sixth in the veterans over-40 category in 1.22:26.

Hercules' Jeremy Purnell was third out of more than 100 competitors in the London Duathlon Classic in Richmond Park in 2.27:40.

It was a double family affair for Hercules runners in Sunday's Bristol half-marathon - Claire Grima and husband David ran together to finish just outside the top 100 of more than 8,000 runners in 1:20:47 as they start their build-up for next year's Virgin Money London Marathon.

Claire was fourth in the veterans over-35 category in finishing 12th in the women's race, while David was 15th in the men's veterans over-35 category.

Further down the field, Sam Leigh was finishing some way ahead of his dad, Mick.

Elsewhere, Hercules's Lisa Laws returned to racing after getting married to fellow runner Olly when she finished fourth woman in the Richmond Running Festival 10km event on Sunday.

The former Miss Crow was 46th overall out of more than 1,300 runners. 

Amy Aronson was top woman finisher in the Wimbledon Common 5km parkrun on Saturday in a personal best time of 18:46.

She was fifth overall out of 330 runners slicing three seconds off her best time set the previous weekend.

Best of the 20 Hercules runners in action was James Moorcroft who finished third in 18:29.

Dan Bratton chopped 22 seconds off his previous best time set in July in finishing eighth in 19:23.

David Scrimshaw was 10th in 19:26, just one second ahead of clubmate and top veteran over-50 finisher Charles Hampden-Smith.

Tom Cheetham, first in the veteran over-45 category, was 13th in 19:31, with Darren Keane 15th in a personal best of 19:36, taking seven seconds off his previous best set in April.

Hercules Wimbledon have cancelled the Geoff Moulden 10km road race scheduled for Sunday, October 4, due to lack of entries.
