Channel 4 TV Selections:

Ascot 1.55 – Day of Conquest

Haydock 2.05 – Barnet Fair

Kempton 2.20 – Robin Hoods Bay

Haydock 2.40 – Captain Cat

Kempton 2.55 – Musaddas

Haydock 3.15 – Quest for More

Ascot 3.30 – Rainbow Rock

Haydock 3.50 – Sole Power / Baccarat e/w

The Haydock 3.50 is part of the British Champion Series and is the Betfred Sprint Cup over 6 furlongs. The usual key to picking a winner of a sprint race is to pick a horse that has been in recent good form.

Sole Power is the best horse in the race and is unbeaten in 3 races, albeit all being at the 5 furlong distance, but he has beaten multiple other horses in this race over 5 furlongs this season.

Gordon Lord Byron and Tropics were separated by a neck at Royal Ascot and both were beaten by 33/1 shot Astaire in that race, though Astaire has since been cleanly defeated in it’s following 2 races, including by Sole Power and also by Hot Streak, who is a horse yet to star at 6 furlongs, and has been comfortably held by Sole Power over 5.

An interesting option is Baccarat at long odds who was a winner of the Wokingham Stakes over 6 furlongs at Ascot last time out but is stepping up in class along with other high odds options including Wokingham 2nd place Professor.

Music Master is another stepping up in class after a recent victory over 6 furlongs when favourite at Newbury in July putting Es Que Love into 3rd. Extortionist rounds out the main protgaonists and has had recent strong performances and is rarely out of the places, but is yet again another horse without any recent 6 furlong form.
