England full back Mike Brown's try proved decisive as Harlequins beat Leicester Tigers 24-20 to stay in the race for a top four Premiership finish.

Tigers flanker Jamie Gibson's score from a quick penalty had seemed to give Tigers the edge at 20-16 in the final quarter.

But Brown powered over in the corner from a floated Ben Botica pass to get Quins in front before a penalty from the replacement fly half sealed the points.

A Vereniki Goneva try and two Toby Flood penalties saw Tigers race into a 13-3 lead before another Nick Evans penalty and a penalty try from a five metre scrum levelled things up at the break.

Man of the match Danny Care, who sparked the move that led to the winning try, said: "It was a pretty brutal game. The type of game you want to play in.

"We want to win this trophy and we are still alive."
