Brooklands College turned into a football ground for the day as it hosted a Football Association road show.

The Team Ninteen road show, held at the college’s Weybridge campus on Tuesday, November 26, aims to increase the level of participation of young people in football and visits colleges across the country.

More than 70 students, some who study the BTEC Diploma is sport, got involved by taking part in the day, which kicked off with a keepy-uppy challenge in the canteen.

Over in the sports hall, a five-a-side tournament took place with seven teams and was a roaring success, with plans now in place for a lunch time and after college league for 2014.

John O’Malley, Surrey FA college and community football coordinator, said: “What's great to see is that 5 out of the 7 teams were made up of people outside of sport's courses showing how Team Nineteen can engage students from all walks of life.”
