Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harrier Phoebe Law has qualified for the English Schools’ Cross Country Championship in March.
 

The 14-year-old clocked 14 minutes, 48 seconds to finmish second and claim a year 11 intermediate girls silver medal at the Surrey Schools’ Cross Country Championship in Reigate on Saturday to book her place at the national championships in Derbyshire next month.
 

It added to the bronze medal the 16-year-old Surbiton High School student  won at the county championships in Croydon at the beginning of the year.
 

Kingston school boy Shalom Mboua seems set to join Law at the nationals having finished fifth in the year 11 intermediate boys event.

Kingston schools’ best performing team were the U13 boys, who came second and were led home by Morrison Cleaver (11:26) in seventh.
 

Kingston AC & Polytechnic athlete Pippa Earley, competing for North East Surrey schools, came second in the U13 girls race, while there was a creditable fourth place for clubmate and Central Surrey schools’ runner Sam Shaw in the U13s boys race.
 

Kingston & Polytechnic’s Philip Bearman (20:08) and Neil Wellard (20:27) came 10th and 12th respectively in the year 11 intermediate boys race.
 

Walton Athletics Club’s Conor Kissane-Wiood, running for Guildford schools, clocked 24:47 to finish 12th in the senior boys race.
