Hampton & Richmond Borough defender Max Hustwick  reckons the next three games are key to re-igniting the club’s Ryman Premier League promotion dream.

Man of the match Charlie Moone’s decisive second half strike garnered all three points for the  Beavers on Saturday for only the second time in 14 league games dating back to October.

It meant the three-game ultimatum delivered to boss Mark Harper after the 1-0 defeat at home to Carshalton Athletic at the end of last year, has produced two draws and a win.

And Hustwick insisted the visit of Wingate & Finchley tomorrow – before clashes with relegation threatened Harrow Borough and Thurrock – was a chance to kick-start a surge back up the table.

“We’ve got some nice games  coming up that we should be winning,” said Hustwick.

“The league is so tight, a couple of wins has you right back near the top, and we have games in hand on some other teams so we’re still in with a shout at the play-offs.”

“Bury was a massive win for us. We have been struggling to get results although we have not played that bad.

“We have some luck go against us, for example the Carshalton match should never have been played. There were puddles on the pitch and it was hard enough to kick the ball, let alone pass it.”
