Whyteleafe dropped out of the Kent League Cup against league leaders Erith & Belvedere after a 1-0 second leg defeat at Church Road completed an aggregate 2-0 reverse.

The first half was a very tight affair, with the visitors seemingly content to hold on for a draw, and Leafe unable to penetrate the defence.

This lead to a dour first half with the few chances falling to the visitors.

Nicholas Taylor making his Leafe debut did make a few good saves but all from forwards who were in offside positions.

The visitors went close in the 24th minute when an Alex Waugh shot was cleared off the line by Sam Robbins, and Taylor made a good save in the 44th minute to tip a Mark Okoye shot round the post.

The second half was a little livelier as Leafe attempted to get into the game.

Getro Kilapi was clear in the 46th minute but delayed his shot allowing the defence to regroup and block his effort, before Paul Scott ran into the box, beat four players but saw his shot blocked by a crowded defence.

Jerson Dos Santos broke clear in the 54th minute, chipped on-rushing keeper Jack Bradshaw, but Allan Matthews got back to clear off the line.

The visitors then had a good spell with Waugh going close in the 67th and 72nd minutes.

The Deres keeper made his first really good save in the 85th minute, getting down to a well-struck Dos Santos free kick and turning it round the post.

Moments later, Dean Palmer had a shot blocked and then headed over from a Bentley Graham corner in stoppage time.

With Leafe pushing everyone forward, Richmond Kissi broke away for the visitors in the eighth minute of stoppage time and slotted the ball into the net to put the tie beyond doubt.

Whyteleafe return to league action in the Premier Division on Saturday when Lordswood are the visitors to Church Road (kick off 3pm)
