Whyteleafe proved far too strong for Holmesdale in the Kent League Premier Division running out 5-0 winners at Oakley Road.

The Leafe’s biggest win of the season so far keeps them third in the table and maintains the pressure on Erith Town and Erith & Belvedere above them.

Leafe were on top throughout this encounter against their struggling hosts and it was only a first class performance from Holmesale keeper Colin Barnes that kept the score respectable.

However, Holmesdale did start brightly and had a chance to take an early lead - Lane Ameru sent Rikki Cable clear but as ae rounded keeper Dave Wilkinson, Lou Clarke got back to block his shot on the line.

Leafe then stepped to the plate and took the lead when Jerson Dos Santos found Getro Kilapi in the box and he fired past Barnes.

The visitors continued to dominate and it was no surprise when they extended their lead in the 31st minute - Sam Robbins rising above the defence to head home a Ryan Maxwell free kick.

Bentley Graham shot wide two minutes later from another Maxwell free kick, before in the 35th minute, Paul Scott found Dos Santos in the box and he scored Leafe's third from close range.

Before the break, Dos Santos missed an open goal, Michael Abnett's 41st minute effort was well blocked by Ameru and the same defender denied Scott on the line.

Holmesdale made some changes at the break but it made little difference and only Barnes’ agility denied Leafe’s Dos Santos and Kilapi further goals.

With the game safe, Leafe changed personnel but still looked the more likely to score.

Graham was sent clear in the 80th minute and rounded Barnes before slotting home Leafe's fourth.

The final goal came in the 86th minute - Abnett was brought down in the box and Scott eventually scored from the spot.

Leafe host second-from-bottom Sevenoaks at Church Road this weekend.
