Dowson: Time will tell if Ks clearout was right move

New boy Nathan Green holds off a Bognor Regis Town attacker on his debut at the weekend
Kingstonian boss Alan Dowson says only time will tell if this week’s sweeping changes at Kingsmeadow were the right decision.
Defender Nathan Green, midfielder Harry Harding, centre back Callum McNaughton – on-loan from AFC Wimbledon – and youngster Jack Barton have all arrived in the last seven days, with Sam Clayton, Tommy Hutchinson, Byron Napper and Dominic Sterling heading out the door.
The moves brought instant rewards in the Ryman Premier League when Andre McCollin’s penalty accounted for Bognor Regis Town 1-0 on Saturday, before Kieran Murphy and Matt Pattison struck for a 2-1 win over Hendon on Monday night.
And Dowson, who takes his side to Cray Wanderers on Sunday, admitted last week’s 2-1 Surrey Senior Cup exit to Corinthian Casuals was the catalyst.
“I was absolutely distraught after going out of the cup,” he said.
“I’ve always had the backing of the board – they have been brilliant to men– but even they were saying ‘what is going on?’ after that.
“We needed to make the changes because we want to push on this year. It has worked – for now.
“I’ll not get carried away. We’ll only know if it was the right thing to do at the end of the season.”
