Harlequins winger Ugo Monye is in the running to make his first England start for more than two years in the autumn international opener with Fiji at Twickenham on Saturday.

Monye - along with fellow Quins Mike Brown, Joe Marler, skipper Chris Robshaw and scrum half Danny Care - has been named in head coach Stuart Lancaster's 23-man squad preparing for the weekend.

The 29-year-old last represented his country at senior level in March 2010 and has been in fine form this season and has four Premiership tries to his name.

“Saturday is a great opportunity for us to put a marker down and deliver a quality performance," said Lancaster.

"It’s great to have young players such as Mako Vunipola and Joe Launchbury get their opportunities in the match-day 23 and we are excited about the potential of the squad."

Quins lock George Robson has been released to be available for director of rugby Conor O'Shea's men and their opening LV= Cup clash at Norhampton Saints on Saturday.
