On 20th May, local dancers won a national award for one of their dance routines.
Pupils from the Doris Holford Stage School won the British Arts Awards for their character group ‘Nightmare’, featuring creepy dolls and extensive make-up. One of the examiners found the overall effect ‘scary’ and they were duly awarded the trophy. This was a huge achievement as they competed with schools from around the country.
The students created their routine with direction from their teachers during lessons every Friday at New Horizon Centre in Pollards Hill.
