Betty Hamlin from Mitcham, turned 103 years old with elegance & style on the 9th May 2017. Born 103 years ago, Betty has lived an adventurous life, her father was in the Royal Navy and served in World War 1. However, he lost his life on the day before Armistice Day; whilst serving on HMS Ascot (Mine sweeper) when Betty was 4 years old.

Betty had a fantastic career working as a finance secretary at Battersea Grammar School in Lavender Hill until it shut down in 1977 while her husband Mick worked for Maples department store on Tottenham Court Road.

Betty loves gardening and has enjoyed living in the comfort of her own home all her adult life.

Being an independent and confident woman, Betty has been supported recently by carers but always maintained her own home and garden right up to the grand age of 100.

To celebrate her day, she received a visit from her favourite Bluebird carer and office staff before she went to the hair salon to get pampered.

Betty is still surprised that she has reached the age of 103 and thanks Bluebird Care for all the support. If you are thinking of giving back to your community or just want to provide companionship, or want to join the Bluebird Care Merton Team, why not call us, and speak to our friendly team.
