On Saturday April 22 Wimbledon Labour Party will be kick starting its General Election campaign with a bumper day of canvassing and street stall campaigning.

The street stall will be outside Centre Court Wimbledon from 11.30 and in particular will be focusing on the government cuts to school funding.

Figures from the National Union of teachers suggested that Merton schools could lose up to £7,802,286 in funding which is an average of £328 per pupil and could result in the loss of 209 teaching posts.
