Last Sunday saw Wimbledon Salvation Army Church launching their 130th anniversary year celebrations. Opened in 1887 by William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army, the church has been reaching out and helping people in Wimbledon ever since.
The motto for the year long celebrations is “Held Together in Christ”. Throughout 2017 the church will be holding a number of meals, events and exhibitions to share the Story of the Salvation Army in Wimbledon and invite you to get involved with our future.
Do you have memories of the Salvation Army you can share? The church would value knowing them to create an Anniversary History. To share memories or join in the events do contact the Salvation Army at 109 Kingston Road, SW19 1LT, Tel. 0208542 4197 or via their Facebook page “Salvation Army in Wimbledon”.
