Myself and many other families in the borough have been accessing over night respite for our severely disabled children.
This has stopped suddenly - we have been given no formal explanation. It's an appalling state of affairs. Many of us relied on an overnight break for caring for our young people and our children loved staying in the home.
We have been totally left in the dark. I am one of the fortunate ones who has a proactive social worker who is looking into other options to provide respite for my son.
Other families aren't so fortunate. We have been treated with a complete lack of care and compassion.
