My mother's headstone has been broken after a burial at the next grave at Figges Marsh.

Merton Council are not treating graves with respect during burials. The marble slab covering my mother's grave has been broken into 3 pieces and one piece is missing.

This is not due to frost damage but has obviously occurred when the grave next to her was dug by council equipment.

We all want to be treated with respect even after death and clearly this is not happening. Terry Downes, director of Merton Cemeteries should ensure that all graves are treated with respect.

Even though I don't visit my mother's grave every week or month, I still like to visit her grave to say a prayer and take her some flowers, especially as next month will be the 29th anniversary of her death.
