London Hospices Choir Aim for No1 Spot. A choir of 300 hospice patients, families, staff and volunteers have released 'The Living Years' with Paul Carrack for Christmas 2016.

18 hospices from around the London area, Essex and Hertfordshire have joined to form the choir including St Rafael's and Princess Alice.

The CD was recorded at the Abby Road studios in London and the video was filmed at the Royal Trinity Hospice.

"I joined the Princess Alice Hospice Choir when my Mother in Law was staying there. Sadly she died in June. The staff were amazing. They were so kind and nothing was too much trouble. On the day she died everyone was amazing and we felt loved and supported" said Annemarie Pallister.

The poignant theme of the song - making every living moment count - is especially resonant as families across the UK come together for Christmas.

"We want to celebrate everything that is great about the UK's incredible hospice movement by getting the London Hospices Choir to Christmas Number 1. The service they provide is invaluable not only to the patients but also to the family unit as a whole. From preparing for the death of a loved one to supporting them afterwards".

It costs 12 million a year to run each hospice but only a third of the money comes from the government; yet a third of us will be cared for by them.

We want to celebrate everything that is great about the UK's incredible hospice movement by getting the London Hospices Choir to Christmas Number 1.

At least £1 from every CD and 50p from every download will be shared between the 18 hospices, just think how amazing it would be to celebrate them in this way - and we can really make it happen!

You can buy a hard copy of the CD from Amazon or HMV for £2.99 or download from i-tunes or Amazon for 99p. The video is available to watch on you tube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBLgZikvM3U
