A lorry driver has been arrested after a 36-year-old cyclist was killed in a Battersea road accident on Wednesday.
The cyclist, who has not been formally identified, was riding down Battersea Park Road when he was in collision with the lorry near the junction with Prince of Wales Drive, close to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
London Ambulance Service and the air ambulance attended but the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
A postmortem examination is due to be carried out on Monday at St George's Hospital, Tooting.
Police say the man's family have been informed and an inquest will open in due course.
The driver of the lorry was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and taken to a south London police station.
He has been bailed to return in late February.
Anyone with any information should call police on 020 8941 9011 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
