A prolific bike thief has been arrested during a police raid on a house in south London.
Daniel Westrop, a 27-year-old labourer from Bromley, failed to appear at Woking Magistrates' Court on May 23 for sentencing after pleading guilty to 10 counts of theft of bicycles. He had asked for a further 92 offences to be taken into consideration.
Westrop was originally picked up by British Transport Police (BTP) on April 3 after an in-depth investigation into cycle thefts.
The charges relate to thefts of bikes over the past three years from railway stations between Fleet and London Waterloo. In particular police said he targeted West Byfleet, Walton on Thames, Brookwood and Surbiton stations.
He was arrested by BTP officers at a house in Catford.
Westrop appeared at Woking Magistrates' Court today and has been remanded in custody until June 29.
