A Worcester Park band has reached the final of a music competition and will go head-to-head this week with nine other artists for the chance to record at the world famous Abbey Road studios.

Trail guitarist Eireann Kelly, 25 and bassist Simon Glynn, 26, hail from Worcester Park and the band will compete in the final of the Colgate Max Fresh competition on January 31 where they will have to impress The Feeling's lead singer Dan Gillespie.

The band already have a huge internet following with 14,000 fans on their My Space page and they have raised more than $30,000 on website sellaband.com, where fans invest shares in upcoming artists for a share of the profits when they hit the big time.

Guitarist and keyboard player Alex Mattey, 25, from Wallington, said recording at Abbey Road would be "magical".

"Simon and Eireann are both Beatle Maniacs," he said.

"They have already been practicing walking across zebra crossings at every available opportunity."

Singer Charlie Afif 28, and drummer Greg Paulett, 30, complete the Trail line-up.
