The number of new businesses in Richmond is growing rapidly, according to a recent report.
Last year, 2,045 new businesses started, significantly more than the 1,313 created in 2012 and 947 in 2011.
The borough's top 12 high growth companies - those with a turnover between £1m and £20m - are also performing well, as employment at the organisations has increased by 68 per cent between 2011 and 2013.
Top performers were BMT in Teddington, which has had a turnover growth of 59 per cent during the surveyed period, as well as Intelligent Environmentals Europe and OLM Systems, which have employed an extra 82 and 146 workers respectively.
MP for Twickenham and Business Secretary Vince Cable said: "I am delighted as Business Secretary in the cabinet to see such impressive, entrepreneurial growth locally.
"We are obviously doing something right."
