Woman punched in face and robbed at Haydon’s Road station
Police are appealing for help after a young woman was punched in the face and robbed while waiting for her train.
The assault happened at 12.25pm on Tuesday, October 16 at Haydon’s Road station.
The 24-year-old was waiting for her train and using using her iphone 4 when she was attacked.
Detective Sergeant Pete Thrush, investigating officer, said: "A man on a cycle approached the woman and snatched her phone, before riding off down the platform.
"The victim followed the man in an attempt to get her phone back and as she ran after him, the man swung round and punched her in the face.
"The suspect then made his way towards Plough Lane."
The victim was not seriously injured.
Detectives have said they are carrying out a number of enquiries including viewing CCTV and speaking to witnesses at the station.
DS Thrush added: "This was a nasty assault on a woman who was simply waiting for her train.
"I would appeal for anyone who was at the station and witnessed the attack or who knows the man responsible to contact police and help officers in this investigation."
