Take part in a frightful fancy dress fun run this Halloween in support of South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust (SWLSTG), writes Lauren May.
Dig out your spookiest outfits for a mad dash around Springfield Hospital in Tooting on Sunday, November 4.
Dr Lynne Drummond, event organiser and consultant psychiatrist said: “Last year we had nearly 250 staff, service users, local people and families running, jogging and walking around the picturesque course at Springfield. This year we want to see even more.
“Alongside the main event there is a 1km run for kids and a family relay so there’s no reason why you, your friends and your relatives can’t get involved.”
All abilities and ages are welcome to take part in either a 1km or 5km run in support of the charity.
Each entrant will be chip timed and receive a medal, with prizes and trophies for the winners and best dressed adults and kids.
Local mental health groups and charities will also be on hand to raise awareness and help break the stigma surrounding mental illness. All proceeds will go to South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust.
