A seventies favourite responsible for the well known hit, In the Summertime, has officially re-opened a Motspur Park pub .

Ray Dorset, also known as Mungo Jerry, was the guest of honour at the Earl Beatty pub, in West Barnes Lane, which has been transformed following a £200,000 investment.

X Factor judge Tulisa’s dad, Steve Contostavlos, is one of many former members of the British rock band fronted by Ray since 1970.

Chloe Baxter, general manager of the Earl Beatty, said: "I’m thrilled with the new look for the pub.

"I really want to make the pub the hub of the local community and it was great to kick off our launch celebrations in style with Ray Dorset meeting and greeting the locals."
