Songs from the hit musical Fiddler on the Roof were performed among a colourful afternoon of celebrations for charity.
The Wimbledon Guild held its annual event on Friday, September 21, the Magic of Musicals at Drake House, St George’s Road.
Mayor of Merton Councillor David Williams joined more than 150 volunteers, staff and social centre members for a traditional fish and chip lunch with singers the Connaught Opera and dancing from the London Children’s Ballet.
Frederick Brown, 93, said: “I’m not able to get out much these days, but today has been a real treat with a slap-up lunch, a good old sing-song and a dance or two.”
Wimbledon Guild’s chairman Sue Cooke said: “This is the sixth year for our annual event and it
really is an uplifting occasion.”
