A new pilot scheme will transform the way youth services are provided in Morden.

The new initiative will be launched on July 3, in the Council Chamber at Merton Civic Centre, at an event involving key Youth Service staff and young people themselves.

The launch event is open to anyone who might run, fund, enable or create youth opportunities in Merton.

Youths from St Teresa's and Endeavour Youth Club will participate in the launch event, which will also include a networking buffet and the opportunity for people to share ideas and participates in discussions to move the initiative forward.

The ideas for the future have been developed by the voluntary sector and Council youth leaders who make up the Merton Youth Partnership.

Chairman Keith Shipman said; "I am pleased and excited by the opportunities for organisation to work together in partnerships."

A keynote speech will be delivered at the event by Merton Cabinet Member for Children's Services Maxi Martin, who said: "This meeting is a great opportunity for all who are involved with youth projects across Merton to see how we can work in partnership to deliver services for our young people."
