Man apprehended after attempt to enter local school

A man has been warned by police after attempting to enter a local school.

The man, who was said to be under the influence of alcohol, was removed by police from outside the Priory Church of England School in Queen’s Road Wimbledon earlier today.

The school emailed parents this afternoon to let them know of the incident.

A spokesperson for Merton Police said: “Police were called to a male trying to gain access to a school.

“The man was located and background checks were done.

“He was spoken to by police and removed from the area.

“He was fully compliant at all times.”
