An unearthed photo gives a glimpse of historic celebrations at a family business.
The picture, taken exactly 75 years ago on March 8, 1937, shows employees of Wimbledon bakers Johnson Carlton marking its 50th birthday with a formal dinner.
The bakery was founded 125 years ago in Mansell Road.
In the company’s glory days it also had three tea shops in the area – one opposite Wimbledon town hall in Queen’s Road, one on Wimbledon Hill in the town centre and one further up the road in Wimbledon Village.
Neil Bevan – grandson of a former owner of the now-closed business – asked if the Wimbledon Guardian’s readers could identify anyone in the picture.
He said: “I thought some may be able to spot a grandparent or family member.”
