Wimbledon underground station will not be hit by heavy disruption during this year's Olympics, transport planners have predicted.

A new Transport for London map reveals details of congestion expected on the tube network because of the games. But it does not forecast extra strain on the District Line stop, despite the fact the Olympic tennis tournament is taking place at the nearby All England Club.

The map suggests some tube stations - including Bank, London Bridge and Green Park - will be exceptionally busy on most days throughout the games, which run from July 27 to August 12.

It warns travellers that others, including Waterloo, Oxford Circus and Paddington, will be busier than usual for most of the fortnight - but there is no mention of extra traffic at Wimbledon or Wimbledon Park.

The tennis tournament begins on July 28, 20 days after the end of the annual Wimbledon Championships at the same venue, and runs until August 5.
