A new online resource has been launched where readers can learn about Wimbledon’s rich and extraordinary past.

The Wimbledon Society and the Wimbledon Museum have teamed up with the Wimbledon Guardian to offer readers a new heritage page which will offer historical articles, opinion pieces and images from times gone by.

The new free service comes courtesy of the historians who have contributed dozens of books and newsletters for the Wimbledon Society, which was established in 1903.

Tony Matthews, editor of the Society’s quarterly newsletter, said: “We are now working with the Wimbledon Guardian to ensure readers can share the fascinating discoveries that continue to emerge about our local heritage.

“Readers who may have something of interest to share with the community – anecdotes, memories or items of general interest – should please contact us via this page.”
