The woman killed on the train line at Wimbledon station has been named by police as Jean Gault, a 65-year-old businesswoman from Wimbledon.

Mrs Gault, who lived for 18 years in Warrington Court, Hartfield Road, was a director of Warrington Court (Wimbledon) Management Ltd, based in North House, in North Street, Carshalton.

Mainline train services between Surrey, south-west London and Waterloo were heavily disrupted for most of Wednesday, July 6, after the incident was reported at 10.08am on Wednesday.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and another woman was treated by paramedics for shock.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokeswoman said Mrs Gault's death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner in advance of an inquest to establish how she died.
