Mothers giving birth at Epsom and St Helier hospitals have shown their support for the hospital in a recent survey.

The survey by the Care Quality Commission, of women’s experiences of maternity services in 2010, showed that most mothers believe the care they received at the hospitals was good, very good or excellent.

Of the mothers who took part, the percentage rating the hospitals as good or better were: 95 percent in respect of care during labour and birth; 94 percent in respect of care during pregnancy; and 86 percent in respect of care after giving birth.

Pippa Hart, director of nursing, said: “I am pleased with these results, but it doesn’t stop here. We must work hard to maintain and improve on these results and, importantly, focus on those areas where we know we can do even better.”
