Dance sensation Louie Spence will fill the void left by Pamela Anderson this Christmas having landing the top celebrity role in Wimbledon’s next panto - and he’s promising as much innuendo as possible.

The star of cult Sky One docudrama Pineapple Dance Studios was in town on Thursday to announce his part in Peter Pan, coming to the New Wimbledon Theatre in December.

And as bemused shoppers witnessed a throng of autograph hunters gather in the Broadway, the 41-year-old said he can hardly wait to tread the boards in Merton for a second time.

He said: "I’ve been on stage in Wimbledon once before years ago while in college, so it’s great to be coming back.

"Doing panto will be so much fun and I’ll be looking to interact with the audience as much as possible. There’s something for everyone and sometimes it’s great when the kids don’t fully understand - I love a good innuendo."

Playing the role of a 'butch' pirate, Louie vowed to better Pamela Anderson who came under fire for appearing on stage for just a week in a shortened stint last year.

He said: "I love Pammy but listen, this is what I do. My background is dancing and that’s the hardest role in show businesses. We’re used to grafting hard for anything up to eight shows a week. So doing panto will be a piece of cake.

"I don't know what the producers have in mind, but I’m an active person and they won’t be able to stop me high kicking and back flipping. Once I’m on stage I won’t be able to help myself."

The search is on to find a co-star for Louis with a talent contest launched this week giving one young person a role in the production.

Robinsons 2010 ‘Search for a Star’ competition will see 400 talented child actors audition for a role in one of 12 pantomimes across the country.
