Hundreds of metres of coloured polythene strips weaved over Wandle Park’s bridges formed the centrepiece of a temporary exhibition in Colliers Wood at the weekend.
The free event organised by artist’s network Post marked the start of a summer festival that will see parks across Merton transformed - featuring installations from 20 artists with a connection to the borough.
The temporary works, including performance art, large-scale sculptures and even poetry readings, were inspired by the artists’ own relationship with the green space where their work is displayed.
Artists’ network Post has organised the series of events with a view to exploring how people connect with the natural world around them.
For more information about the project, jointly funded by Merton Council and the Arts Council England, see postartists.com/awayday or email info@postartists.com
