Four teenagers who stormed into a shop and violently attacked a lone shopkeeper have been snared - thanks to the Wandsworth Guardian.
On September 14 last year, at around 12.45pm, the thugs entered the Jammis Supermarket in Garratt Lane wearing masks and hoods.
They immediately began to violently punch the lone shopkeeper and threaten him with bottles before making off with a box containing over £1,000 cash and bottles of alcohol and cigarettes.
However the whole incident was captured on the shop's CCTV cameras which produced high quality images of the attack.
After publishing the CCTV images in the newspaper and on our websites, police received information from members of the public who were able to identify the four.
All were found to live in Wandsworth and were arrested. Their homes were also searched.
They were subsequently charged with the robbery and eventually pleaded guilty to the offence.
A spokewoman for the force said: "Wandsworth police would like to thank the Wandsworth Guardian for the vital assistance they provided with this nasty commercial robbery."
The four teenagers are due to be sentenced at Kingston Crown Court on February 15.
