A Wallington man died in a car crash months after moving to Cyprus, an inquest has heard.
Jonathan Stacey moved to the island in April 2006 but died in a road accident after a night out with friends on November 29 last year.
After a hearing at Westminster Coroner's Court, where a verdict of accidental death was recorded, the 20-year-old's father Richard said: "He was a nice kid, well liked with a lot of friends.
"He was a young lad out there having fun - it's hard to tell them sometimes.
"After his death his old headteacher got in touch and told us he was a very engaging young man, which was nice."
Before leaving England, Mr Stacey worked as a trainee carpenter, living with his parents in Foresters Drive, Wallington.
The inquest was told the former Foresters Primary School pupil was a fit young man who enjoyed football and riding his motorbike.
On the night he died, Mr Stacey was driving home with four passengers at about 2.40am after enjoying a night out.
Coming to a sharp bend in the road he deviated to the right, lost control and the car ended up flipping before landing upside down.
All the passengers in the car were injured.
Mr Stacey was taken to hospital in Cyprus's capital Nicosia, suffering from severe brain and skull injuries.
On December 9 last year the decision was taken to take him off the life support system.
Coroner Dr Paul Knapman said: "This was a tragic case of a 20-year-old who suffered severe injuries caused by a road traffic accident.
"The sympathies of the court goes out to the family members."
He recorded a verdict of accidental death.
