Two-year Asbo bans man from drinking in public

A 23-year-old drunk has been banned from Ashstead and Reigate.

Homeless Leslie Richman was given a two-year Antisocial behaviour order (Asbo) when he appeared at Guildford Crown Court this week.

Richman is not allowed to drink alcohol in public, except as a customer in a pub, and has been banned from carrying alcohol in an open container in the streets.

He was also barred from entering train stations except to buy tickets - but has been ordered to stay away from Ashstead and Reigate stations.

Neighbourhood specialist officer Jason Woods said: "Leslie Richman was responsible for a great deal of antisocial activity in the lower Ashtead area.

"I hope his two-year order sends a clear message that we will not tolerate this behaviour."
