It may have taken him longer than 80 days, but Wimbledon man Nigel Hulcombe has sailed his way around the world.
The 56-year-old commodities trader joined an elite club of circumnavigators after completing the epic eleven-month, 40,000 nautical mile Clipper 2017-18 Round the World Yacht Race.
Mr Hulcombe and his 'PSP Logistics' team were greeted with fireworks as they guided their 70-foot yacht into the Royal Albert Dock for a fifth place finish.
"It feels just like yesterday we were here in Liverpool," he said.
"It hasn't quite sunk in yet how far we have come and what we have achieved.
"It's been an adventure and one that I will remember and cherish always."
In total the race saw Mr Hulcombe cross six oceans with thirteen stopovers in five different continents.
