A Morden school is hoping its new garden will help kids "learn through nature."
Head teacher St John Fisher RC Primary School, Janine Kenna said the new £18,000 nursery was a welcome addition.
"We now have an outdoor classroom and resource where our children can learn through nature," she said.
"The new garden brings great wellbeing as well as solid academic benefits to our nursery children."
Mayor of Merton Mary Curtin was even on hand to help students plant a flower bed to add that extra bit of colour.
"It is a communication friendly space where young minds will be engaged in art, story making, understanding science as well as mathematical skills including counting and weighing," Ms Kenna said.
"I am most grateful to the PTFA for its generous funding for this forward thinking and ground breaking initiative.”
