A main road in Raynes Park will be closed for up to eight weeks as a gas network is upgraded.

Approach Road between junctions with Clifton Park Avenue and Grand Drive will be temporarily closed while the work takes place.

Southern Gas Network (SGN) together with Merton council will start work from 9.00am on April 2 until 7.00pm on May 27.

SGN has invested £973,000 to replace old mains and services with new plastic pipe.

Parking suspensions will also be in place around the area.

The following buses will also be diverted: 152 & K5 towards New Malden and Ham, 163 towards Morden, 152 & K5 towards Pollards Hill and Morden and 163 towards Wimbledon. 

The route 164 turning point will also be unavailable.
