The celebrate its opening Colliers Wood Library will be hosting a community fun day on February 24 packed with free activities and events for children of all ages.

The activities and events will be held between 11 am- 4pm.

Merton Council Cabinet Member for Community and Culture, Councillor Nick Draper said: “The community day at Colliers Wood Library is the perfect opportunity for everyone to come along and enjoy the excellent facilities and engage in a number of free activities.

“Our family friendly libraries are going from strength to strength. We pride ourselves on making Merton a great place for families.

“We are incredibly proud to have a state-of-the art new library facility available for our residents to enjoy.”

Colliers Wood Library first opened on February 5 on the site of the former Donald Hope Library.

The three-floor building features free computers, meeting and event room space, special activity zones and a dedicated children’s library and café.

It is also Merton’s first ever dementia friendly library following consultations with the Alzheimer’s Society for its layout.
