Wimbledon Village has welcomed a new Thai restaurant with an opening that saw people brought from the station by tuk tuk.
Giggling Squid is now open on the High Street, serving a lunchtime tapas menu and a separate dinner menu.
The 100 cover restaurant features wooden floors and exposed brickwork, combined with reclaimed mirrors and hand-crafted furniture make for a welcoming ambience.
Owned by Thai-born Pranee Laurillard and her husband Andrew, Giggling Squid- the nickname of one of their three children - was founded in the basement of a tiny fisherman’s cottage, now the Brighton restaurant.
The couple opened their first site in Hove in 2009 and have gone on to establish a strong reputation for authentic Thai cooking.
The launch of the Wimbledon store takes the family of restaurants to 22.
