A Wimbledon pub has announced the return of its annual Man vs Santa competition - and all the proceeds are going to a children’s cancer charity.

The ultimate mince pie eating challenge is back for its fourth year at the Hand in Hand in Crooked Billet and will attract London’s most passionate pie eaters from 8pm on December 13.

Contestants have just over three minutes to gobble down as many of the festive treats as possible spurred on by 80’s classic Eye of the Tiger.

All proceeds are donated to this year’s local children’s cancer charity, Momentum.

There will be a £3 charity registration fee, which includes a free Santa hat, mince pies galore plus a guest appearance from Santa himself.

He who ‘reins’ champion will win a minute behind the bar to pour as much draft as they can and a festive hamper from our friends at Sipsmiths.

If the sound of mince pies doesn’t have you chomping at the bit, the Women’s Institute will be on hand with a selection of baked goods (mince pies not included) and Christmas crafts.

Mulled wine and Christmas spirit will be flowing throughout the evening with carols from local choirs and musicians to match.
